PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
- Responsible for acquisition and maintenance of customers and development and overseeing implementation of marketing plans, generating profitability, and maximizing growth through developing key marketing activities.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
- Supervises, leads, organizes, trains and develops the Agronomy & Seed Sales Team for TriCounty FS, Inc. and the Jerseyville Location Energy Sales Team and Jerseyville Operations Manager, through effective staffing, providing leadership, setting performance expectations, actively maintaining performance management standards, and managing supervisory expectations to maximize growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for developing and maintaining an effective sales administration program that includes strategies to develop new business, prospects, follow-up and follow-through activities and works closely with Area Managers to implement and coordinate common marketing thrust and sales administration activities.
- Develops and oversees implementation of Agronomy and Energy marketing plans that align with company goals and objectives.
- Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, retail pricing policies, and discount rates.
- Ag Chemicals liaison for TriCounty FS when dealing with Chemical Manufacturing Representatives. Works closely with GROWMARK and our Agronomy Sales Team to develop strategies that leverage the position TriCounty FS has in our local market. Is responsible for all aspects of this business - pricing, products, promotion, and distribution. Responsible for margins and profitability.
- Develops written competitive strategies, and implements strategies for each sales territory.
- Develops annual sales goals and key objectives that align with company goals and objectives, manages incentive programs and through collaboration with area managers, oversees implementation.
- Responsible for establishing efficient plant operations and assigning sales territories.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for preparing recommendations for annual budgets. Works with Operations Manager at the Jerseyville Location to develop plans for fixed asset replacement, acquisition and expansion in accordance with the marketing plans and strategies for long term growth and profitability.
- Supports and participates in Company sales activities, functions and meetings. Conducts and assists with training and informational meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring Area Managers comply with government regulatory requirements, safety standards and all other company policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Normally requires a Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business or related field, 9 or more years of sales and marketing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, to demonstrate advanced marketing skills, sales leadership, supervisory skills, and strategic planning.
- Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
- Requires the ability to obtain and maintain applicable licenses and certifications.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
- Must be able to work extended hours beyond those considered normal.
- Occasionally required to lift 21-50 lbs
