Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Applications Engineer to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

Technical Support & Troubleshooting



  • Provide advanced remote support to operations and service teams for the configuration, programming, and troubleshooting of access control and video management systems (VMS)
  • Respond to service escalations and provide Tier II/III support for complex system issues
  • Collaborate with field teams during system cutovers, upgrades, and migrations
  • Interpret system documentation, wiring diagrams, and as-built drawings to assist with field-based troubleshooting
  • Ensure accurate ticket documentation and timely response in alignment with service-level expectations


System Configuration & Commissioning



  • Assist with system commissioning, database configuration, credential integration, and device programming for supported platforms
  • Support initial setup and deployment of access control and video management systems according to project specifications
  • Configure user access levels, schedules, and system rules to meet operational or security requirements
  • Perform device address assignment, network configuration, and firmware initialization for controllers, cameras, and peripheral devices
  • Validate system functionality through pre-commissioning tests and assist with final system acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with field technicians and project managers to ensure accurate implementation of engineered designs


Product Testing & Platform Expertise



  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of supported manufacturers and platforms (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Exacq, etc.)
  • Participate in product testing, firmware validation, and pilot rollouts for new technologies or updates



Documentation & Knowledge Management



  • Support the development and maintenance of:

    • Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • System configuration templates
    • Knowledge base documentation





Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years' experience in electronic security systems, with a focus on access control and video surveillance platforms
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows-based applications, IP networks, and security system components
  • Experience with common security software platforms (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and support multiple concurrent issues
  • Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule or after-hours support as needed
  • Primarily office-based, with occasional field visits as needed


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certifications from major manufacturers (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Milestone)
