This is your opportunity to lead operations at a premier manufacturing center for our Global Pet Care division, offering the stability and strategic influence of a multinational enterprise. We are actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at our Bridgeton, Missouri plant. The Production Supervisor is the central leader for their assigned area, ensuring the safe and efficient manufacturing of our products. This role is directly accountable for overall team performance, measured by the consistent achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs). These critical metrics include Safety, Quality, Delivery, Uptime (OEE), Best-In-Class Operating Standards and 5S/Housekeeping. Additionally, the Supervisor drives team capability through employee training, handles all personnel issues, and maintains rigorous production records. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership, Coordination, and Personnel
- Leads, organizes, and coordinates all daily work assignments and tasks on the assigned production line/area.
- Enforces all Company policies, including safety, GMP, and ISO compliance.
- Assists in the preparation and organization of employee work schedules and manages employee issues.
- Facilitates daily team meetings to review production losses, address open issues, and discuss upcoming maintenance, defect plans, and potential safety risks.
- Acts as the single point of contact for the production line, collaborating effectively with support groups (Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Planning).
Performance, Problem Solving, and Continuous Improvement
- Coordinates with Management to implement daily production plans on the floor, including the distribution of staffing and production schedules.
- Leads Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure sustainable solutions.
- Leads loss troubleshooting efforts on the line, working with machine operators and maintenance personnel on technical issues.
- Leads or actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives and projects delivered to the line.
- Maintains an organized and resource-ready area, assisting in the planning of the layout and maintaining an adequate supply of tools and hardware.
Training, Compliance, and Standards
- Leads the technical training and process capability building for all Line Workers and Machine Operators.
- Trains employees on the safe operation and maintenance of equipment and adherence to all required procedures (GMP, ISO, EHS).
- Drives the implementation and adherence to 5S/Housekeeping standards across the area.
- Coaches the team on the Process Control Strategy and drives the effective usage of documentation to capture and prioritize equipment defects.
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Business Management or related field preferred
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience required
- Technical experience in mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair is preferred
- Experience and/or training in Lean manufacturing is preferred
Required Skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing principles including, but not limited to:
- machine variables and constraints of production lines
- lean practices
- change over procedures
- equipment trouble shooting
- Ability to comprehend and follow the SOPs (standard operating procedures), work instructions, and production masters.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to help in the writing of SOPs, work instructions, standard work, Etc.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Work Environment
- Core Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 5:30 AM to 3:00 PM CST
- Overtime may we required during the week and there may be occasional Saturday work.
