M-F 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. & 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Duration: 7+ months

Pay Rate: $21/hr. on W2


Job Description:

  • In response to the post-COVID-19 decline in NYC public school enrollment, the DOE is launching a strategic outreach campaign to re-engage families and attract new students.
  • The Family Welcome Center Enrollment Representative plays a key role in this initiative by supporting families with enrollment and admissions, providing high-quality customer service, and assisting with outreach efforts.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Respond to family inquiries via phone and email, schedule appointments and document interactions.
  • Assist with student registration under supervisor guidance.
  • Conduct targeted robocalls to promote enrollment and share resources.
  • Collect and manage family contact information, including preferred languages.
  • Support virtual and in-person admissions events.
  • Provide accurate and timely admissions information to families.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Participate in outreach efforts and present information to community groups.
  • Assist in student enrollment workshops and sessions.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop outreach materials.
  • Input data into DOE systems (ATS, Service Cloud, MySchools).
  • Adhere to Chancellor's Regulations A101 and uphold ethical standards.


Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant community work experience.

    OR
  • High school diploma + 6 years of relevant community work experience.

    OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum 1 year of relevant experience required).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in educational settings or with the DOE.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
  • Willingness to travel across NYC.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Office 365, Teams).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in one or more of the following:

    Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin), Arabic, Bengali, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, Urdu.
  • History of excellent attendance and punctuality.
