About our group:

Working in tandem with world class silicon suppliers, the Seagate Power Device team develops custom mixed signal integrated circuits that are fundamental to HDD operation and incorporate an array of embedded functions including motor drive, voltage regulation, energy harvesting and data conversion. The Power Device team resides within the larger Hardware Engineering organization, which has responsibility for multiple aspects of HDD design. As such, ample opportunities exist for cross pollination and skill development via collaboration with subject matter experts across functional disciplines.

About the role - you will:

  • Develop an automated switching regulator efficiency measurement test system.
  • Determine test equipment and software requirements.
  • Architect system, identifying any necessary hardware provisions.
  • Write instrument control scripts and develop top level user interface.
  • Capture efficiency data and validate against existing empirical results.
  • Apply system to new regulator applications.
  • Assist team with validation of new custom silicon (time allowing).
  • Collect bench level parametric and functional data.
  • Confirm specification adherence and fit for use.
  • Present results to team and vendor.

About you:

  • Possess strong grasp of fundamental analog principles.
  • Self starter and self motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Your experience includes:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering and will be enrolled for academic courses in Fall 2026.
  • Courses and/or experience in analog electronics including op-amps and transistors.
  • Working knowledge of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators and DMMs.



You might also have:



  • Control systems course work or experience.
  • Understanding of switching regulator fundamentals.
  • Test automation experience.
  • Interfacing to test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.).
  • Data collection & analysis (Matlab, Python).

The estimated base wage range for this position is $29.00-35.00/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
