Pay Range

$93,090 - $113,988Yearly at the E01.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.


Job Description

We're looking for aBusiness Systems Analyst for our Learning Management System (LMS) application and help desk team. You will play a critical role in writing application feature specifications, administering the system and handling complex Help Desk tickets. You will work with stakeholders, users, developers and training coordinators to ensure that our LMS is configured to meet new business needs and that bug fixes are made. We are looking for someone who has strong business and functional understanding of Learning Management Systems but also has some comfort level with more technical areas around reporting (some familiarity with SQL preferred), xAPI learning standards and systems integration experience (e.g., APIs, database views, file transfer). The Business Systems Analyst will help maintain and optimize our enterprise LMS, ensuring ongoing system administration, and providing user support through our help desk. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong analytical mindset, technical proficiency, and a passion for supporting organizational learning initiatives.

This position offers a full-time off-site work schedule. You will collaborate and contribute through virtual interactions. Occasional on-site presence to meet business needs may be required.

This is a Flexible Term appointment 1-2 years in length.

In this roleyou will

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and recommend system enhancements.
  • Serve as a Product Owner for LMS features to create and maintain product roadmap and backlog.
  • Administer and configure the enterprise LMS, including user management, course setup, content uploads, and system updates.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for LMS-related inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving user support tickets via the help desk.
  • Document processes, system configurations, and user guides to support training and onboarding.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to on new features, bug fixes, integrations, and technical support.
  • Generate and analyze reports and system metrics.
  • Write test plans and conduct test cases for enhancements, new features and integrations within the LMS environment.
  • Provide training and support for end-users and administrators as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business,Human Resource, Management information Systems or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, preferably with LMS administration.
  • Familiarity with enterprise a LMS platforms (e.g., Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle, or custom built).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with help desk ticketing systems and customer support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with reporting tools.
  • Experience creating training materials and delivering end user training for system enhancements or new implementations.
  • Experience writing requirements, test plans and conducting test cases for system implementations, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Advanced communication skills andnegotiation skills to inform and influence team members and stakeholders.
  • Experience working effectively both independently and as a member of a team.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies for software development and project management.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and viewing database tables to triage customer issues.
  • Experience with xAPI learning standard.
  • Experience as a Product Owner.

Security Clearance

This position requires either no security clearance, or a Department of Energy (DOE) L-level or Q-level clearance depending on theparticular assignment.

If you are selected and a security clearance is required, wewillinitiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. L and Q-level clearances require U.S. citizenship.

If no security clearance is required, but your assignment is longer than 179 days cumulatively within a calendar year, you must go through the Personal Identity Verification process. This process includes completing an online background investigation form and receiving approval of the background check. (This process does not apply to foreign nationals.)

National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)

The 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Section 3112, generally prohibits citizens of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea without dual US citizenship or legal permanent residence from accessing specific non-public areas of national security or nuclear weapons facilities. The restrictions of NDAA Section 3112 apply to this position. To be qualified for this position, Candidates must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112.

Pre-Employment Drug Test

External applicant(s) selected for this position must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.

Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities requireseparate approval. Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
