What to Expect

This position is responsible for enhancing the safety culture for drivers of all assets, both within our own yards and over the road in North America. The fleet safety specialist will partner and work closely with operations frontline and management teams and EHS peers to aid in the development, execution, and maintenance of safety programs. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have strong communication / interpersonal skills, have experience with safe driving programs (commercial driving experience a plus) and adhering to/managing safety programs along with relevant knowledge of DOT and OSHA federal and state regulations.


What You'll Do
  • Aid in the development and execution of EHS policies, procedures, programs, and systems
  • Regularly report out on EHS performance objectives and ensure the tracking and reporting of metrics and performance against these key performance indicators for fleet safety
  • Complete regular inspections on site of yard standards
  • Facilitate safe driving training and execute safe driving events and observations
  • Lead learnings/investigations regarding safety events/incidents and communicate learnings throughout the organization
  • Support regulatory inspections and communications
  • Analyze data and reports trends and recommend/support plans for corrective action

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience working in the field of logistics and fleet operational safety; additional experience or proof of superior knowledge and ability in the field preferred
  • Familiarity and understanding of shipping logistics and transportation principles and concepts, including over-the-road and railway transport, car haul business understanding a plus

  • Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting decks and facilitating trainings

  • Strong listening skills; able to drive positive employee relations and safety culture in the field

  • Ability to work across functions and motivate both leaders and frontline associates

    Expected Compensation
    $76,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
