What Will You Do:

  • Read and correct the following drawings:
    • Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID)
    • Electrical Drawings
    • Instrument Loop Drawings
    • Schematics
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate all plant instrumentation and electrical equipment as necessary.
  • Able to install, repair, and complete revisions to plant instrumentation and electrical equipment while following drawings and making "As Built" corrections or drawings as needed.
  • After being trained in the use of the DocuMint Database and Calibrations, will use them for scheduling, calibration, and documentation of plant instrumentation.
  • Maintains the instrumentation and electrical spare parts inventory.
  • Performs all work while emphasizing safety and maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally compliant work area.
  • Supports the guiding principles of Responsible Care to continually improve Freeport plant's safety, health and environmental performance, security, and efforts to respond to public concerns relating to design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use and ultimate safe disposal of chemical products.
  • Supports and is committed to the Quality Improvement Process. Plans strategies to ensure error-free work by "doing it right the first time" and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties.
  • Supports and incorporates the activities of Continuous Improvement into ongoing work duties through teamwork within and across departments. Use Continuous Improvement to eliminate losses and waste that hamper facility effectiveness so that safety is advanced, process and equipment are reliable, quality is stabilized/improved, and reduce operating costs.

Position Details:

  • Plant located in: Freeport, Texas
  • Work week and shift: Regular hours Monday through Friday, with the exception of a weekend rotational on-call responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience in I/E in an industrial maintenance environment
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
  • Must have the ability to don a respirator
  • Must have the ability to wear fall protection if necessary
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of working at elevation including from a manlift or ladder.

Physical Demands:

  • Have the ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head,
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal vocational training or certification in plant maintenance area of expertise.
  • Forklift operation certified.
  • Work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Prior chemical plant maintenance experience.
