Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Program Assistant II to provide essential administrative support to the Public Benefits Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse, dynamic, and fast-paced environment dedicated to serving our community. As a Program Assistant II, you will play a key role in supporting the Public Benefits Program Manager and assigned programs through a variety of administrative and organizational tasks.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing daily administrative support to program leadership.
  • Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and maintaining reference materials.
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies.
  • Updating and managing employment tracking systems and generating data reports.
  • Entering and maintaining data in internal tracking spreadsheets.
  • Coordinating special projects and performing other administrative duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in preparing and maintaining reports.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with automated systems, databases, and departmental software tools.
Hiring Salary is commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Criminal background check required. Based on assigned program area a credit and/or DMV check may also be required. For DMV check, valid driver's license and good driving record required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
