 Engineer, Chandler AZ - 2325680 EMPLOYER: Optum Services Inc. JOB TITLE: Engineer LOCATION: 485 N Juniper, Chandler, AZ, 85226; This position requires up to 15% travel to various unanticipated worksites nationally (Domestic). DUTIES: Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Duties include: support the many aspects of the automated/semiautomated mail-order pharmacy fulfillment operations and projects, with emphasis on mechanical/mechatronics focused projects; convert an existing manual operation/process into an automated one; improve existing automated systems and processes; design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D computer aided software like SolidWorks & Catia; create 2D fabrication and assembly drawings along with their Bill of materials (BOM); use 2D computer aided design software like AutoCAD to design various pneumatic and electrical layouts for the automated systems; create technical documentation like maintenance manuals, standard operating procedure documents and technical specifications for various automated systems as part of the design team; use both hand and powered tools for developing a prototype of the system; make use of 3D printing / Rapid prototyping tools for both design and concept proving stages; develop pneumatic systems that would be used on various automation systems, including pneumatic system layout, selection and sizing of components; work closely with vendors, contractors, cross functional teams and management to effectively define, develop, refine/enhance production equipment and processes; provide technical support/guidance, and execution of development, and testing activities; and work with automated equipment and automation components such as: PCs, Programable Logic Controllers, servos, robotic applications 6 axis robot programing, Roboguide, Input/output automation devices, pneumatic components, and various conveyors. This position requires up to 15% travel to various unanticipated worksites nationally (Domestic). REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in an Engineer-related occupation. Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following: Mechanical design or working in an Industrial environment; 2D and 3D Computer aided design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA; Additive manufacturing/ Rapid prototyping / 3D printing tools for concept design and prove out; Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and stack up analysis for designing machine parts, components and assemblies; Creating fabrication and assembly drawings along with work instructions; Creating and maintaining bill of materials (BOM) for complex assemblies; Pneumatic parts/components/systems and applicators used in automation such as solenoid valves, valve banks, and vacuum generators; Automation components such as AC & DC motors, Conveyers, PLCs, Input/output devices, robotic applications, and vision systems and conveyers; and Creating technical documents and reports such as cost benefits analysis, technical machine manuals, and procedures.
