Overview

To support the mission of Helio Health, Inc., The H.I.T. Application Specialist is responsible for all activities related to the implementation, maintenance, analysis, and integrity of the Health Information Technology (H.I.T.) operating environments for the organization. Under administrative direction, to plan, organize, and manage the H.I.T. system and related functions and to perform related duties as required. Provides systems administration, including managing user licenses, system cleanup and maintenance, and auditing and reporting.

This position will require candidates to work on-site in Syracuse, NY.

Pay Rate: $58,000 - $65,000 per year

In addition to Helio Health's comprehensive benefits package, this position is eligible to receive a Sign-On Incentive up to $1,500!

Working Relationships:

    Reports to the HIT Director and keeps them informed of workload.
  • Works with internal staff on a daily basis and collaborates with program leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Understands workflow and assists users in leveraging the systems to support and inform high
    quality care.
  • Develops a mastery of the organization's H.I.T. systems in order to provide ongoing support for all Helio Health end users.
  • Manages the H.I.T. help desk to resolve system and user issues, ensure timely assistance, and end user satisfaction, using metrics/data, to continually improve the support/services provided by the H.I.T. team.
  • Maintains working relationships with the application and systems vendors.
  • Stays abreast of system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
  • Responsible for user account creation, deactivation and management.
  • Provides end user support for NYS Offices of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) and Office of Mental Health (OMH) forms.
  • Maintains detailed system documentation in, and overall management of, the Agency Document Libraries.
  • Creates and updates forms within the Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) system.
  • Continual analysis of the H.I.T. systems with focus on workflow development and optimization by working closely with end users and Operational Support Areas (OSA).
  • Collaborates with the H.I.T. Digital Adoption Specialist to complete projects and update workflows in our Digital Adoption Platform (OAP) software.
  • Responsible to support an "On-Call" rotation to support the program outside of normal business hours.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Data/Statistics, Clinical, Medical or related field is preferred.
  • Three years of related experience in a healthcare or clinical setting and/or HIT experience required.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of privacy laws, workflows, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Experience using Crystal Reports or other report writing tools desirable.
  • Proficient knowledge of productivity applications (i.e. Office 365).
