Maintenance Technician - JLL What this job involves:

Launch your career in maintenance and engineering at JLL! The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. This entry-level position provides opportunities for growth in the engineering field as part of a 10+ member engineering team at a multi-building client property managed 24/7 by JLL.

You will work alongside experienced Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a dynamic learning environment with diverse equipment and systems. This role offers hands-on experience maintaining and repairing mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems while developing technical proficiency through our Preventative Maintenance Program. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep them up to applicable standards
  • Execute predictive, planned, preventative, and routine maintenance including equipment rounds and service requests as directed
  • Control daily operation of all mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings
  • Complete all tenant service requests accurately and expediently
  • Maintain time and production records and customer service requests utilizing computer/technology tools
  • Evaluate building systems to monitor and improve performance and operating efficiency
  • Assist with development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOPs, and operational procedures
  • Participate in the on-call engineer rotation for the portfolio of office buildings and actively participate in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs
  • Comply with all policies and procedures including safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience in commercial industry general building preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Valid state driver's license (must possess and maintain)
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or Building Management System (BMS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., work from heights, and climb ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work in adverse conditions (extreme cold, extreme hot) and perform frequent climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and overhead work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trade school education, union training, military service, or college education
Location:

North Austin / Round Rock, Texas

Work Shift:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with rotating on-call schedule for after-hour emergencies. Must be able to work different schedules, holidays, weekends, and respond to after-hours site emergencies.

Salary/Comp:

$19.66 - $28.51 per hour paid bi-weekly. The range listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. A job offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
