C/C++ and DSP Software Engineer Intern Position - Summer 2026

The platform firmware audio team at Nintendo Technology Development (NTD) is seeking an intern for Summer 2026. This role will focus on characterizing and optimizing system-level audio mixing and effects for Nintendo gaming consoles, with an emphasis on speed and memory footprint. Depending on interest and aptitude, this role may also involve exploring AI-driven approaches to optimization. We're looking for autonomous, curious, detail-oriented engineers who are enthusiastic about tackling complex technical challenges and eager to learn and contribute.

What we're looking for...

The ideal candidate is:

  • Junior, senior, or post-graduate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Proficiency in Python (for scripting, automation, and data visualization)
  • Understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts
  • Familiarity with CPU/DSP architecture fundamentals
  • Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills
  • Basic knowledge of statistics (for performance analysis and benchmarking)
  • Bonus: Exposure to AI concepts and techniques (e.g. deep learning or neural networks)

This position is onsite in Redmond, WA, and not open to remote status at this time.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

This contract position has a base pay rate of $40 per hour and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits include eligibility for medical insurance, employee assistance program, and paid sick leave. All benefits are subject to elections, eligibility requirements, plan and program terms. Benefits offerings will be confirmed at the time of offer by the employing agency, and may differ depending on the employing agency partner.
