Overview

The Nurse Manager, Cath/EP Lab, in collaboration with and under the direction of the Sr. Director, is accountable for the ongoing leadership and daily operations of the unit. The nurse manager manages unit-based patient care services; uses sound human resource and budget principles to manage personnel and fiscal management and development of programs and services, provides leadership for the nursing staff and the patient care team to support safe, high-quality care of patients and families in the critical care setting. The nurse manager supports the application of new knowledge and innovation to advance critical care nursing in the cardiac operating room/ CV/EP Lab. Participates in department and hospital performance improvement activities. Provides family-centered patient care that is based on scientific theory and is outcome-focused.

Responsibilities

    Collaborates with the Nursing Director/Sr. Director to provide the personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high-quality patient and family care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate nursing care for patients undergoing Level 0 to 6 surgical procedures in the hospital setting, including managing emergen
  • Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities by assisting with the application of new knowledge and innovation to advance departmental improvements.
  • Assists Nursing Director/Sr. Director in managing the department operating budget effectively, identifying and recommending capital expenditures, and assisting with planning new programs or services.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required and
    • 1-2 years experience
      • At least 12 months of experience in clinical nursing, and
      • an additional 6 months of charge nurse experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred and
    • 1-2 years experience or
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Director) Preferred Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $48.45/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.



Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
