Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Building Patrol in STATEN ISLAND, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for all occupants and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you perform routine patrols and respond to service requests with professionalism. You will also interact with the public, providing exceptional customer service and strong communication. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for government locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behaviors or incidents in accordance with Allied Universal and client site protocols.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence and assist visitors, employees, and contractors with security-related inquiries.
  • Complete required logs, reports, and incident documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
