Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI) has an opening for a Safety Intern in the Safety Department at EGI in New Castle, PA. This position will travel to EGI facilities throughout the Pennsylvania and Ohio for specific projects. This non-exempt hourly position will report to the Director of Safety. This is a temporary, part-time position.

We are looking for a highly motivated Safety Intern who is enthusiastic and interested to learn about a variety of areas in Safety/ EHS. The Safety Intern will be responsible for the following functions, including but not limited to:

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assist with EHS safety projects,
  • Assist with VPP,
  • Conduct Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Sampling;
  • Update MSDS System at various Business Units;
  • Developing online video training programs;
  • Update JSA's and Confined Space procedures;
  • Maintain confidentiality at the highest level;
  • Abide by all policies and procedures established by the Company; and
  • Meet attendance requirements.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION



  • Two (2) years of college with a Safety major required,
  • Completed at least one (1) year of entry level safety courses,
  • Prior experience as a safety intern preferred,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Possess strong time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Be a collaborative team player who is responsive and takes initiative;
  • Work in, and contribute to, a positive team environment
  • Detail oriented and the ability to multi-task, and
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
