ICU Clinical Nurse Leader - Nights - Faulkner

The Clinical Nurse Leader participates in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating patient care and developing programs to support clinical care consistent with the mission and goals of Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital as well as the requirements of JCAHO and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies. Responsibilities include participation in oversight and operation of the patient care area, ensuring quality patient care for patients in the following age groups: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Clinical Leader will also ensure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required and Master's Degree Nursing preferred
  • MA Registered Nurse required
  • Basic Life Support required
  • ICU experience - 2-3 years required but 5+ years preferred
  • CCRN preferred
  • Adheres to all C.A.R.E. standards
  • Meets all expectations of staff nurse job description
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Works with the Nursing Director to evaluate practice, recommend change and identify outcomes related to nursing practice
  • Able to plan and implement educational opportunities
  • Act a resource and mentor
  • Demonstrated history of:
o High level of skill coordinating direct care activities among clinical staff to facilitate collaborative care for patients.
o Collaborating with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safest, most efficient patient flow through all clinical areas and paranesthesia areas.
o Leading development and supporting maintenance of a healthy work environment.
o Leadership in innovative design, planning and implementation of successful quality/process improvement initiatives.
o High level of proficiency and innovation in use of electronic health record.
o Use of information systems and technology to enhance patient care outcomes and satisfaction.
o High level of accountability and proactiveness in individual and group work. o Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively.
o Displaying a positive attitude and acting as a positive agent for change.
o Cultivating and maintaining strong, positive collaborative relationships with leadership, nurse and interdisciplinary colleagues.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Strong conflict resolution skills.
o Strong, positive mentorship, coaching including the ability to adjust teaching style to the learning needs of new and current team members to facilitate success.
o Ability to complete assigned tasks, juggle multiple priorities in stressful situations.
  • Excels at demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients in the relevant area of nursing practice.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills appropriate to position's responsibilities.
