Overview
The Diagnostician position will be responsible for coordinating and conducting comprehensive evaluations, liaising with families, and preparing detailed reports to support individualized care plans.
Responsibilities
Review the diagnostic calendar and relevant client documentation, including biological and biopsychosocial information, to prepare for diagnostic appointments.
- Initiate outreach to families prior to appointments to confirm attendance and address any inquiries.
- Conduct thorough file reviews, considering client age, historical data, and abilities, to inform the diagnostic process.
- Facilitate the intake process by providing families with necessary documentation and collecting key information such as vision, hearing, and medical history.
- Manage the diagnostic calendar by scheduling, rescheduling, and tracking appointment attendance and no-shows.
- Explain the assessment procedures and set clear expectations with families.
- Administer standardized diagnostic assessments including ADI-R, ADOS-2, and DD-CGAS.
- Contact families within one week following diagnostic appointments to arrange feedback sessions, discuss results, and outline recommendations.
- Score assessments accurately, including ADI-R, ADOS-2, Vineland-III, and K-BIT2.
- Interpret assessment outcomes and draft comprehensive reports.
- Complete all required documentation, including WSA forms.
- Participate in supervision sessions to review reports and assessment findings.
- Ensure accuracy and professionalism by reviewing reports prior to final approval and signature.
- Schedule and conduct feedback sessions to communicate findings, diagnoses (if applicable), and recommendations.
- Guide families through subsequent steps and available services following assessment.
- Maintain organized individual client files, including all relevant documents and notes.
- Accurately update and maintain data in Excel spreadsheets and communication logs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Public Health, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant education and experience in psychological assessment, clinical psychology, or related field.
- Proficiency with standardized assessment tools such as ADI-R, ADOS-2, and Vineland-III.
- Licensed in a relevant field (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Developmental Pediatrics)
- Formal training and experience with standardized diagnostic tools (e.g., ADOS-2, ADI-R) strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple appointments and maintain accurate documentation.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
- Skilled in analyzing data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Works well across departments and builds collaborative relationships.
- Committed to improving safety outcomes and ensuring full compliance with training and reporting requirements.
