Job Description:

Overview

FormFactor is seeking a strategic and technically adept Senior Manager to lead our Mechanical Design Engineering team. This role is responsible for driving the development of next-generation Production RF and Analytical wafer probing products. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership capabilities with deep mechanical engineering expertise to guide a high-performing team in delivering innovative, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.

This position plays a critical role in shaping the mechanical engineering roadmap, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams to meet business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance management.

  • Oversee the full mechanical design lifecycle-from concept through production-ensuring high-quality, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with electrical engineering, manufacturing, product management, and applications teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet performance, cost, and schedule goals.

  • Champion engineering best practices including design reviews, DFMEA, PFMEA, tolerance analysis, and validation testing.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery of program milestones.

  • Partner with operations and customer-facing teams to resolve field issues and drive continuous product improvement.

  • Drive innovation in mechanical design, analysis, process development, and testing.

  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance team efficiency and product quality.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap development for mechanical engineering capabilities, infrastructure, and future product opportunities.

Pay Range:

$138,900.00 - $182,280.00

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Beaverton, Oregon pays between $138,900.00 and $182,280.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
