The Quality Operations Associate is responsible for disposition of raw materials and returned goods, as well as printing and inspection of production, rework, demo, and return labels to support manufacturing and disposition activities. What you will be doing? -Review, inspection, and disposition of all incoming raw materials for use in tissue product manufacturing and testing. -Processing, inspecting, and disposition of returned tissue products. -Assigning product lot numbers and generation of product labeling for manufacturing, rework, demo samples, and returned product when required. -Inspection of product labeling including the ability to identify defects on printed labels. -Reporting metrics on job responsibilities and contributing to continuous improvement efforts for the returns process. -Database maintenance, scanning, filing, and archival of QA related documents. Location: Columbia, Maryland Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with materials / product processing and/or labeling in a regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment. Licenses/ Certifications: N/A The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $48,00 - $66,999 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate. What you need to be successful? Experience: 2 years of experience in a regulated biotechnology environment in an operations or quality role. 1-2 years of experience performing label printing or inspecting labels preferred 1-2 years of experience in a detail oriented inspection role of any kind (visual detail inspection) or disposition role preferred Preferred experience with biohazard material handling. Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with materials / product processing and/or labeling in a regulated biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment. Knowledge: This role requires a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to efficiently use Word and Excel. Experience with use of Excel for tracking work and metric generation and PowerBI plus. This role must be able to focus to perform visual inspection for extended periods of time. This role must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a collaborative mindset Physical Demands: Office area, warehouse area, controlled temperature storage areas, be able to lift at least 25-40 lbs.
