Your Contribution
- Manages the Manufacturing Engineering Department.
- Establishes and directs manufacturing engineering projects and programs.
- Ensures that processes are properly specified and documented.
- Directs the activities of the manufacturing engineers; provides training and guidance as required.
- Approves process specifications, material specifications, manufacturing drawings, route sheets, process specifications and bills of materials.
- Approves engineering changes.
- Recommends and/or initiates engineering changes revising documentation as necessary.
- Troubleshoots production and material problems recommending and implementing both short and long-term solutions.
- Evaluates and recommends vendors.
- Supports design/specification of tooling, jigs, fixtures, gages, and equipment for manufacturing.
- Supports the fabrication of those items and their implementation into manufacturing.
- Evaluates and makes suggestions to improve processes and business systems.
- Assists in the preparation of quotes by working with sales and customers to identify and document specifications. Determines if product is manufacturable or is within SCHOTT's capability to produce.
- Prepares and/or approves CERs.
- Works with TC to develop, recommend and implement major new manufacturing processes, equipment and product designs.
Your Profile
- B.S. in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent in experience, training or course work.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in engineering.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Effective management skills -- plan, direct, organize and control.
- Effective interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to create effective working relationships with a diverse group of personalities.
- Strong analytical ability and a disciplined problem-solving approach, including use of PSD.
- Ability to motivate and develop subordinates.
- Good judgment and good decision-making ability.
- Sufficient technical knowledge to advance company's products to meet changing market needs.
- Computer proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office software.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations.
- Self-motivated and results oriented.
- Able and willing to work with others on a team.
- Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
