The John Chambers College of Business & Economics, West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking qualified applicants for a Teaching Assistant Professor position primarily focused on teaching Business Core (BCOR) courses in Business Ethics. The position is a full-time (1.00 FTE), non-tenure-track, 9-month appointment beginning in either January 2025 or August 2026.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teaching (80%):
    • Teach eight courses annually, primarily in BCOR Courses, though other undergraduate or graduate courses may be assigned based upon departmental needs.
    • Develop and deliver engaging, innovative, and effective teaching strategies to enhance student learning and success
  • Service (20%):
    • Contribute service to the Kendrick Center for Ethical Leadership and Civic Engagement, supporting its mission through programming, outreach, and student engagement activities.
    • Participate in professional development and maintain a record of contributions that enhance the teaching mission of the College
Qualifications
  • A PhD degree in Philosophy, Social Science, or a business-related field is required, or JD in Law.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the collegiate level.
  • A strong commitment to student success, academic engagement, and innovative teaching practices.
