We're seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Associate Affairs Consultant III to join our team of innovators. As a key player in our organization, you'll be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to our leadership team, driving business growth, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Display proven ability to collaborate with C-Suite and Executive-level stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences, providing expert guidance and support on complex issues.
  • Bring their expertise in compliance and health insurance plans to navigate regulatory requirements, ensuring seamless operations and minimizing risk.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay ahead of the curve in industry trends and best practices, continuously improving our processes and strategies.

What Will You Be Doing

Project Management

  • Lead large, complex departmental and/or divisional projects. Plan, organize, monitor and control projects to ensure the effective use of resources and adherence to project management standards and reporting requirements.
  • Participate, facilitate and/or lead Enterprise-wide workgroups and initiatives.

Research & Analysis

  • Research, analyze, maintain, modify, validate and prepare complex data, information and content used in making business decisions.
  • Present findings and articulate results to all levels of leadership.
  • Produce, edit and distribute a variety of business documents such as reports, proposals, policies, procedures, audit results, issue papers, marketing materials, newsletters, brochures, etc. to internal and external audiences, including senior level leadership.

Compliance

  • Lead the identification of risks, evaluate controls and prepare findings and recommendations. Lead implementation of compliance programs to prevent illegal, unethical or improper business practices.
  • Lead audits to ensure the organization's programs are consistently administered in compliance with organizational policies and procedures, contractual obligations, rulings, laws and government regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions, policies, practices and processes to ensure continuous improvement, good client relations and adherence to business requirements.
  • Identify, recommend and implement improvements to achieve and deliver high quality, value-added services.
  • Lead the development, implementation, administration and revision of policies, procedures and programs that meet business needs.
  • Lead program development and enhancements.

Association Affairs Liaison

  • Serve as a liaison between internal clients and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) and Blue Plans
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the interpretation, application and compliance with BCBSA regulations, policies, procedures, standards and practices.
  • Identify, develop and build key internal and external partnerships to improve communication, coordination, collaboration and effective working relationships within own department, across the Company and outside of the Company.
  • Represent assigned function at external hearings, mediations, audits, meetings, etc.

Communication

  • Create, present and/or facilitate meetings, webinars, conference calls, training programs, education sessions, certifications, etc. for internal and external audiences, including senior level leadership.
  • Mentors and coaches less experienced coworkers on the technical and interpersonal skills needed for effective job performance.

What We Require

  • 5+ years related work experience.
  • Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading projects.
  • Solid understanding of the health insurance industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners and leaders, including executive leadership.
  • Experience with identifying, defining and resolving complex issues utilizing strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with PC office software such as SharePoint and MS Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to lead integration planning with stakeholders.
  • Flexible with the ability to coordinate and handle multiple high-priority or high-visibility deliverables within strict deadlines and timelines.
  • Prioritizes and refocuses work efforts with minimal direction to accomplish goals.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, needing minimum direction.

What We Prefer

  • Knowledge of Florida Blue Health Plans and Services
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in compliance and health insurance plans (highly desirable)
  • Polished communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

General Physical Demands

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

  • Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Annual Targeted Offer Hiring Range: $75,700 - $94,600

Annualized Salary Range: $75,700 - $123,000

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
