Key Responsibilities:

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.

Develop safety policies and procedures.

Train employees in safety procedures.

Keep up to date on changes in safety regulations.

Regulating compliance with safety standards.

investigate accidents and incidents

Monitor compliance with safety regulations

Identifying possible risks through risk assessments

Developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental and occupational health and safety programs

Investigate accidents and incidents in your workplace.

Stay updated on any modifications to safety standards.

Maintain and update the database of Safety Data Sheets available to employees

Coordinate and conduct safety committee meetings

Other job duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety & health management, or related field required.

Minimum of 2 years' work experience as an EHS coordinator.

Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ANSI.

Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations, policies, programs, PPE, environmental policies (EPA), safety engineering, accident/injury investigation procedures and operating rules.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.

Excellent communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Bilingual is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

As an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator working in a manufacturing plant setting, there are specific physical requirements and work environment considerations to keep in mind. Physical requirements may include the ability to stand for extended periods, walk through the plant floor, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. Additionally, good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination may be necessary for tasks such as data entry or filing. The employee must have corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

In terms of the work environment, the Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator may be exposed to noise from machinery, varying temperatures depending on the plant's operations, and potentially hazardous materials. Therefore, familiarity with safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential.
