Location: 15901 Bass Rd., Ste. 108, Fort Myers, FL 33908 Department: HOD HB Peds Developmental Work Type: Full Time Shift: Shift 1/8:30:00 AM to 5:00:00 PM, M-F Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$21.54 - $25.31 / hour Summary***Up to $5,000 Sign-On and $5,000 Relocation (If located greater than 50 miles away)*** The Medical Assistant in the Pediatric Neurology and Developmental offices is responsible for providing an excellent patient and family experience in a collaborative, team-based environment. This role supports physicians and advanced practice providers in the coordination of care by assisting with patient flow, rooming, obtaining medical histories, and ensuring all necessary documentation and forms are available for visits. The Medical Assistant assists with scoring and organizing developmental and behavioral assessments, rooming, managing phone calls and messages, completing paperwork, and assisting in coordinating referrals/appointments. This position also ensures exam rooms and clinical areas are properly maintained to support efficient and safe patient care. Accuracy in collecting, documenting, and communicating patient information is essential, as is maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This position is Monday through Friday with no weekend or holiday requirements. Other duties as assigned by the department Manager or Supervisor. RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or GED Required. Completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare the medical assistant to take national CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health Career Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists) medical assistant certification exam preferred. Experience: Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required for graduates within 2 years completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare the medical assistant to take the national CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health Career Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists). 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in lieu of degree/diploma from accredited medical assisting program. License: Not Required Certifications: CMA (American Association of Medical Assisting), CCMA (National Health career Association), RMA (American Medical Technologists) preferred. BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) required (must be obtained within first 90 days of hire).
