Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hybrid Senior Software Developer / Technical Instructor with expertise in developing scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end technologies, with proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks while also comfortable hosting workshops, demos and mentoring sessions. This position is Hybrid, on-site at Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, NC. Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade software solutions using Java, PostgreSQL, and React Architect and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that support military operations and internal business processes.
- Conduct regular training and mentoring sessions for junior military developers, covering the team's tech stack, development workflows, and software engineering best practices.
- Create and maintain detailed training materials, including code labs, technical documentation, and reference guides, tailored for junior developers with varying experience levels.
- Review and guide junior developer code submissions, promoting adherence to standards and continuous learning.
- Serve as the organizational lead for AI education and prompt engineering, providing technical insight on emerging AI tools and their practical applications.
- Host workshops, demos, and briefings to educate both technical and non-technical personnel on how to effectively leverage AI capabilities, with a focus on LLMs and prompt design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prototype AI solutions that improve efficiency, enhance mission outcomes, or support decision-making processes.
- Ensure AI integration and software development adhere to security, ethical, and operational standards, especially within sensitive or classified environments.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, web development, and DevSecOps to drive continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
- Provide leadership in cross-functional teams to deliver high quality solutions in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, contributing effectively in a high-paced, focused team environment.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficient in developing custom user interfaces using React.js and component libraries such as MaterialUI.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience mentoring junior engineers or leading development teams is preferred.
- Experience creating Docker containers with multi-stage builds and utilizing Docker Compose in development environments.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes and experience deploying applications on Kubernetes platforms.
- Experience with AWS is preferred
- Capable of creating Helm charts for deployment
- Familiarity with building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI.
- Experience with security scanning tools such as Ancore, with the ability to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Knowledge of database technologies like PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch; experience with query engines like Trino is a plus.
- Familiarity with distributed messaging systems, including Redis, Kafka, or SQS.
- Experience with Keycloak is an advantage.
- Experience working in or supporting military or DoD environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively inspire and influence teams and partners in delivering technology enabled business solutions that meet business needs
- Technical professional experience building scalable enterprise applications with high availability and reliability. Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail and the ability to design, execute against strategic goals
- Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations.
- Due to US Government Contract Requirements, only US Citizens are eligible for this role.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred
Security Clearance:
- An active Secret clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI security clearance
