Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Build and expand relationships with municipal, utility, state, and private clients to identify and pursue new water resources opportunities.
Lead proposal strategy, scope development, and budgeting for major pursuits in Florida and the Southeast. Represent Geosyntec at conferences, workshops, and professional organizations to strengthen market presence and brand recognition. Leverage existing relationships and industry visibility to open new markets and service lines within the water resources space. Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers and scientists, fostering a collaborative, learning-oriented culture. Lead project teams across disciplines and offices, integrating expertise from hydrology, geotechnical engineering, ecology, and data science. Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, and staff development across the region. Manage and provide technical direction for projects involving:
Sustainable green infrastructure planning and design; Urban stormwater systems, flood control, and water quality improvement; Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and floodplain mapping; Stream restoration and watershed management; Climate resiliency and adaptation studies; Dam breach and risk reduction studies.
Oversee preparation of engineering design documents, construction drawings, cost estimates, and technical specifications. Ensure quality control, project profitability, and client satisfaction across all assignments. - Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering; natural resources or other science with emphasis on water resources; or closely related discipline. (required)
- Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
- Professional registrations / certifications (i.e., P.E., P.G. CFM, ENV SP, CPESC, CPSWG). (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of progressive consulting experience in water resources planning, design, and management. (required)
- Demonstrated experience in business development and/or client account management for public and private sector clients. (required)
- Strong understanding of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., ICPR/STORMWISE, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD). (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Excellent writing, communication, and leadership skills. (required)
- Occasional site visits and overnight travel. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
- Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization. New H-1B visa lottery and employment based green card sponsorship are not available for this position.
