Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and collaborate with both old and new technologies, including PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), vision systems, photo eyes/sensors, limit switches, proximity switches, temperature controllers, variable speed drives, motors, servos, motor and machine controls, advanced electronics, ultrasonic knife systems, and electrical systems up to 480v, 3ph.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration using both automated and manual measuring devices.
  • Assist operators with screen changes, die lip scrapes, changeovers, and startups.
  • Maintain and verify documentation, including SOPs, 6S, parameter sheets, maintenance logs, work orders, and protocols.
  • Lead projects and equipment upgrades; take ownership of your area, order parts as needed, and be active with TPM in your area.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical abilities with both pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pump repairs, motor and gear box repairs, and overall mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental safety procedures and improve safety in the area.
  • Fabrication skills preferred.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, and Qualifications)

  • Two-year technical degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Required to possess fundamental understanding of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated machinery.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficiency in operating a fork truck, roller straps, and chain hoist lifts, as well as roller cart lifts and pull trucks, along with various hand tools like sockets, ratchets, wrenches, wire strippers/crimpers, and electrical meters.
  • Proficient in forklift operation required.
  • Basic knowledge of Shop Math is required.
  • Essential to possess strong problem-solving and communication abilities and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literacy preferred.

Physical / Safety Requirements
  • Duties may require overtime work, including nights and weekends.
  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment is required.
  • Must lift 50 lbs., use screw cart for 150 lbs., push/pull 300 lbs., bend, climb, crawl, walk, squat, stand, and work in tight spaces.
  • Must pass forklift physical.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The average salary for this position is $52,000.00. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
