Job Description:

The Electrified Vehicle Thermal Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing and validating thermal calibrations from early mule vehicles through production for next-generation BEV and Hybrid propulsion systems. This role ensures calibration maturity targets are met to support SOP milestones by executing disciplined development and test plans.

The engineer will document and justify calibration changes, collaborate with calibration managers and lead calibrators, and support both nominal and off-nominal development tasks. They will participate in the Center of Excellence (CoE) team for their functional area, review new calibrations, and coordinate calibration merges with other functional leads. This role includes production release responsibility for HCP software and calibrations.

The engineer will also support dyno development, vehicle debug activities, and work closely with the electrified controls team to ensure feature functionality. Collaboration with CoE teams is essential to uphold best practices and calibration test processes.

Responsibilities:



  • Define calibration values for vehicle control algorithms based on program requirements
  • Execute Design Verification Plans (DVPs) aligned with vehicle program milestones
  • Track and resolve issues identified during DVP testing
  • Attend vehicle validation trips (approximately 3 times per year to U.S. testing sites)
  • Develop DVPs for new or unique features in assigned programs
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure calibration integrity and software alignment

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in automotive thermal systems or calibration
  • Ability to author system/component-level requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and creativity in problem-solving
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Familiarity with thermal subsystems such as refrigerant loops, HV battery cooling, and heat pump operation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Experience with Simulink and ETAS-INCA
  • Experience working with vehicle controls and calibration tools
  • Knowledge of hydraulic flow dynamics, refrigerant phase change, and heat pump functionality
  • Prior calibration experience on electrified vehicle applications
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional development teams
