Acquisition Program Manager/ Program Management Support II Location: Waco, TX Minimum Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI Part time schedule: 20 hours per week As an Acquisition Program Manager/ Program Management Support II, you will be responsible for supporting DoD-funded acquisition efforts by working closely with contracting officers to approve contract terms, budgets, and scope changes. The position oversees the full lifecycle of defense assets from design and development to testing and deployment while managing cost, schedule, and performance. Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, ensuring quality, managing contracts, and resolving complex technical and organizational challenges. The role also involves representing the program office at higher organizational levels and applying acquisition policies across diverse programs, including those involving emerging technologies and advanced weapons systems. Strong leadership, accountability, and strategic oversight are essential to supporting critical Air Force missions. Who You Are and What You Need:
- Bachelor's degree required, with the degree in related field desired.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in developing, fielding and sustaining systems.
- 5+ years' experience with Performance Based Acquisition.
- Knowledge of DOD acquisition reform initiatives and must be familiarity with the DOD 5000 series acquisition regulations.
- Possess a proven record in problem solving, decision-making, program/financial management, logistics and concept development.
- Possess demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Aptly proficient in presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinate operational capability requirements between user and contractor, determine adequate solutions, and assist in translating them into contractual language.
- Assist in development and establishment of operational architecture and large dataset collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination.
- Assist in development, testing and fielding of communications architecture.
- Assist in preparation and coordination of contract SOW and CDRL between Program Office, Government Contract Officers, Legal and the contractor.
- Review contractor CDRL submittals for completeness and accuracy per contract requirements and provide results to Program Management Office.
- Advise on technical evaluations of contractor proposals for both Air Force program management personnel and Government COs.
- Coordinate between Government CO, Government Quality Assurance Evaluators and contractor on evaluation results of contractor development and manufacturing performance and assist with implementation of corrective actions as required.
- Assist with developing acquisition strategy, project schedules, program plans, financial plans and other time-sensitive documentation.
- Assist with development of test procedures for system integration and developmental test and evaluation for new system installs.
- Assist with resolving technical problems associated with the integration of new capabilities.
- Coordinate sustainment requirements for system upgrades and system improvements.
- Analyze and report on contractor generated technical data, technical manuals, and engineering changes.
- Provide technical and management analysis during the development, integration, and test phases of newly installed systems.
- Coordinate financial status with PM and 645 AESG budget offices.
- Assist with preparation of program briefings on acquisition, financial, and technical improvement projects.
- Assist USAF PMs in monitoring contractor schedule and performance.
- Research existing and evolving technology for application to the program.
