Job Summary
Responsible for directing, coordinating and assisting with facility and maintenance activities in one or more areas in a 24/7 manufacturing operations. Responsible for all quality and compliance tasks within day-to-day activities of the maintenance department on all shifts. Responsibilities include proper operation of all systems and equipment as well as administrative activities related to service agreements and personnel reporting to incumbent. Must be able to manage the expense and overtime budgets.
Salary Range: $90,816-$126,991 additional 10% bonus
Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assures that all systems and equipment in the facility are in top operational condition.
- Reviews and modify the existing preventative maintenance program to fit the ever-increasing need for continuous operation of systems/equipment.
- Assures proper troubleshooting of systems/equipment to minimize down-time and eliminate re-occurring of problems.
- Provide leadership for people reporting to him/her and inform management of the current, as well as future, needs of the facility.
- Responsible to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develops a project/maintenance budget and forecast spending requirements.
- Initiates, authors, reviews, and approves change controls, specifications, risk assessments, work orders, standard operating procedures (SOPs), capital project approvals (CPAs), purchase requisitions/orders, factory/site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT), corrective actions, and associated interim/final reports and other paperwork in compliance with Company policy.
- Closes working relations with Operations and Engineering teams to support project implementations are completed in accordance with cGMP Standards, Site Standard SOPs and applicable local, state and federal laws.
- Hires, develops, organizes, and leads staff.
- Supervises and coordinates activities and performance of assigned staff to ensure the achievement of department objectives and performance goals.
- Develops information and compiles reports concerning preventative maintenance, scheduling, and department goals, and KPI.
- Works in a team environment with other department management to coordinate facility and maintenance activities with production schedule to achieve required deadlines, objectives, and budgets.
- Develops department employees through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, communication of rules and policies, audits, while building employee morale, motivation, and energy consciousness.
- Evaluates performance facility equipment process and staff; maintains records of performance.
- Conducts continuous review and follow-up on projects to ensure completion of assigned work.
- Advises department management on matters relating to daily operations and makes recommendations for improvements when feasible.
- Ensures adequate resources are available to maintain the facility and supporting energy efficient procurement and design activities. (i.e. equipment, supplies, spare parts and labor).
- Reviews, performs/ensures investigations are done effectively and in a timely manner.
- Establishes and administers operational procedures related to the maintenance of the Facility and Equipment.
- Assumes responsibility for proper maintenance of production equipment and facilities.
- Takes necessary action to eliminate delays ensuring adherence to production and shipping schedules.
- Audits own performance and recommends own objectives and standards of performance.
- Ensure department personnel are aware of Fresenius Kabi's Environmental and Energy Management System including Environmental and Energy Policy.
- Responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced experience in Maintenance in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience, in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Supervisory/managerial experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge and understanding of utilities systems, pumps, piping, boilers and water treatment.
- Must have experience with high-speed filling/packing equipment (liquid).
- Good understanding of electrical installation, power distribution and wiring.
- Good understanding of electronics, relays, controllers and programmable controllers.
- Good understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing processes, automation and controls such as PLCs and HMIs, machine design and layout, utilities and piping including compressed air and gasses, steam and water systems, HVAC, fire protection, project management, Autocad, construction, drawing standards including the ability to read and decipher drawings including process and instrumentation and general supervision.
- Proven record of successful troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
- Good understanding of budget and project management.
