Compensation: $70,000 - $76,000 - based on skills and experience.

Position Summary

The Finance Department at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science invites applications for a full-time Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will support the accounting for the University and Health Clinics and be a project leader on technology projects for Finance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
  • Create new general ledger accounts, account strings, and budget pooling
  • Manage patient care accounting and reconciliations
  • Assist and collaborate with patient care divisions to improve fiscal processes and financial reporting
  • Maintain fixed asset records, system, and general ledger accounts
  • Review and post payroll accounting entries
  • Prepare schedules and gather information required by the University's independent auditors
  • Serve as a mentor to other members of the Finance team
  • Serve as financial representative for a cross-functional group of leaders evaluating Ellucian Colleague updates
  • Assist in third party reporting
  • Contribute to the success of the University by performing all other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to internal controls while driving continuous process and documentation improvement
  • Build strong relationships with departments across the University and Health Clinics

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent working experience
  • Four years of experience in a related accounting position or related field
  • Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check
