Position Overview

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable data solutions using Snowflake Cloud Architecture and DBT pipelines, driving innovation and efficiency in healthcare payments.

  • Manage projects and mentor a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and growth.

  • Build robust ETL pipelines for data integration, ensure data model alignment, and support both on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Uphold privacy standards and document processes, while championing data quality through analysis and testing.

  • Enable efficient deployment with Azure DevOps and Git, always acting with agility, putting people first, and striving to make a positive impact for clients and business partners.

What You'll Bring to Zelis:

  • Demonstrated experience with Snowflake Cloud Architecture and Pipeline development expertise.

  • 7+ years in data engineering, including Microsoft BI Stack and SQL Server, 2+ in a lead role.

  • Experience migrating from on premise SQL data warehouse platform to cloud.

  • Must have SQL skills proficient in complex joins and performance tuning.

  • Experience with Data Warehousing, enterprise data modeling, Azure/AWS, and Data Lakes.

  • Proven team leadership and mentoring abilities.

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and an excellent communicator.

  • Flexible, able to multitask, and work independently or in teams.

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint and release. planning, daily standups, and retrospectives for continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years working with an ETL tool (DBT preferred).

  • 2+ years designing and developing Azure/AWS Data Factory Pipelines.

  • 2+ years Columnar MPP Cloud data warehouse using Snowflake.

  • Experience managing business critical data processes for financial and operational reporting

  • Experience with real-time data processing and data streaming architecture.

  • Experience using AI development tools (Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate development and quality refactoring.

  • Working knowledge of managing data in a Data Lake.

  • Python Skills Preferred

  • Business analysis experience Analyzing data to write code and drive solutions.

  • Working knowledge of: Git, Azure DevOps, Agile, Jira and Confluence.

  • Healthcare and/or Payment processing experience.

Independence/ Accountability:

  • Requires minimal daily supervision.

  • Receives detailed instruction on new assignments and determines next steps with guidance.

  • Regularly reviews goals and objectives with supervisor.

  • Demonstrates competencein relevant job responsibilities which allows for increasing level of independence.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Problem Solving:

  • Make logical suggestions of likely causes of problems and independentlysuggest solutions.

  • Excellent organizational skills are required to prioritize responsibilities, thus completing work in a timely fashion.

  • Outstanding ability to multiplex tasks as required.

  • Excellent project management and/or business analysis skills.

  • Attention to detail and concern for impact is essential.

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Base Salary Range

$127,000.00 - $169,000.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
