Responsibilities

Hours for this role are Monday-Friday, 830a-5p and every other weekend.

The Group Therapist at PrairieCare is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating psychosocial services for patients. This role involves delivering a variety of therapeutic services to patients and their families, with the goal of enhancing patient functioning.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Facilitate structured group activities and conduct group therapy sessions.
  • Work with children, adolescents, adults, or a combination of these populations, as assigned.
  • Contribute to the interdisciplinary team by offering insights based on specialized training and experience in group dynamics.
  • Provide individual meetings with patients or families as needed, in accordance with the therapist's licensure and scope of practice.

Qualifications

Position Requirements: (Required and Preferred)
Education: A Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field is required. If your degree is in a closely related field and you are pursuing an LPCC, you must demonstrate that your education meets the coursework requirements of the license, either through your own comparison or an unofficial review with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
Previous Experience:
  • Candidates must be licensed or actively pursuing clinical licensure in the state of Minnesota. This includes receiving clinical supervision and counting clinical supervision hours.
  • Two years of experience in mental health is preferred
  • Available to provide coverage for other team members when absent or as the need arises
  • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
  • Skills necessary to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team
  • Ability to make effective clinical and culturally informed decisions

Compensation for this role ranges from $24-31 per hour depending on education and experience.
