What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to work on the industry disrupting Tesla Semi. Candidates for this job have a strong eye for detail, can provide quick and strategic solutions, ability to execute large scale plans, adapt to sudden changes, manage difficult and complex challenges, and work collaboratively with excellent oral and written communication skills. To be a successful candidate for this role you should be a self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and engaging cross-functionally within Tesla and across the extended supply chain. This role is onsite in Sparks, Nevada with some required travel about 10-20% of the time.
What You'll Do
- Plan, organize, execute, and track logistics movements of Semi vehicles, test assemblies, and supporting equipment, including trailers
- Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with internal and external stakeholders on engineering and prototype semi moves
- Act as a liaison with local Tesla Engineering, Development, and Testing teams by coordinating logistical moves of prototype and partial Tesla Semi vehicles utilizing proprietary Tesla systems
- Collaborate with local Tesla stakeholder teams to identify and mitigate local logistics concerns and maximize early vehicle value by increasing utilization and decreasing delays
- Maintain Tesla assets with proper labeling, registration, domiciledlocation, and required inspection schedules
- Develop logistical plans to support customer demonstration events and plan events to support commercial team
- Forecast fleet needs and moves to service all stakeholders, while compressing equipment downtime
What You'll Bring
- 5-7 years in Supply Chain and Yard Management experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends contingent on business needs
- Ability to travel to various Tesla locations as needed, up to 20% of the time
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, especially in Excel and other database systems
- Strong Interpersonal skills, able to work alongside multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with Freight Equipment, Carriers, and processes. Understanding of DOT regulations and requirements such as HOS, and maximum load parameters and permitting processes where required
- Technical familiarity with Class 8 trucks. Geotab and Tesla Garage familiarity a Plus
