The Role:

Entergis in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer to join our team. As the Senior Engineer for our APS divisions new flagship site, you will play a pivotal role in vetting, recommending, installing, and testing the equipment that will support the APS division's growth, performance, and overall success. You will be a part of a team of engineering professionals, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and champion a culture of continuous learning and development.

What You'll Do:

  • Be a hands-on part of the Automation and Controls team providing technical skills to support the startup of a new factory. This new factory will be modeled off a current factory with defined improvements

  • Some travel to our site in Bedford, MA to learn the process, the technology, and the team. While there you will gain a vision for our new factory to guarantee successful vertical start-up

  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, technicians, and management, to ensure seamless collaboration and achievement of production goals

  • Collaborate with the OT team and the IT architects to design equipment that is cyber secure and maintainable, maximizing production time

  • Ensure that all equipment aligns with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols, prioritizing the well-being of employees and the adherence to legal standards

  • Responsible for the equipment FAT and SAT representing automation and controls. You will ensure the equipment functions as expected and that documentation for schematics and all programming is both complete and accurate

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of operating and troubleshooting automation equipment including OT networks, PLCs, SCADA and SQL server applications

  • Maintain a proactive approach to identifying potential issues, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to ensure continuous and smooth operations

  • Keep up to date with advancements automation technologies, integrating relevant innovations into our manufacturing processes where appropriate

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering or related is strongly preferred with 5+ years' experience in Automation with a preference for a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience starting up new equipment and/or new factories

  • Experience working with vendors and involved in acceptance of equipment

  • Experience in various manufacturing technologies at both local level and enterprise level

  • Ability to travel to existing site for knowledge transfer and to visit vendors and perform FATs

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence at various organizational levels

  • Ignition (Perspective Platform preferred)

  • SQL server application

  • Stratix switch use and configuration

  • Compensation: $94,000.00-$120,000.00 a year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
