RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Health Information Training Specialist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Health Information Training Specialist, you will work to ensure all record requests from patients, referring physicians, attorneys, internal departments, etc., are fulfilled in an appropriate manner; all patient records are accurately filed; and also ensure that all outgoing shipping is completed accurately and on time. Responsible for training health information associates.

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

(55%) Medical Records Administration



  • Ensures that all incoming and outgoing medical report requests are processed on a daily basis
  • Distributes the reports to the various interoffice locations (Billing Office, study files, etc.)
  • Prepares the daily duplicates and reports for delivery by the various courier services
  • Files and organizes the courier lists of outgoing films and reports
  • Ships all other items leaving clinic using preferred shipper as needed
  • Ensures accurate and timely filing of patient medical reports and films and retrieval of same
  • Finds and retrieves outside films for doctors, technologists, and research
  • Communicates with referring physician offices by giving them verbal reports of transcribed medical reports
  • Communicates with attorney and insurance companies regarding patients
  • Communicates with patients to ensure they receive the records they have requested
  • Follows all HIPAA guidelines for release of information


(35%) Staff Support



  • Trains new hires as well as provides refresher training for existing associates
  • Follows up on errors with staff and reports back to lead, manager and corporate office as directed
  • Evaluates and adjusts workflow as needed to improve accuracy and improve patient throughput


(10%) Completes other duties as assigned

Required:



  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing


Preferred:



  • Previous medical records experience
  • Bilingual
