POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shipping and Packaging Associate supports the logistics team by preparing finished goods for shipment, processing paperwork, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This role reports to the Logistics Supervisor and collaborates with the Material Handler and Respool department to ensure efficient operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Packaging and Shipping: Arrange, package, weigh, and prepare finished cable products for timely shipment.
• Quality Control: Verify accuracy of finished products, associated paperwork, and weight measurements.
• Inventory Management: Update and maintain the magnet board and monitor Short Length Inventory WFA ("Waiting for Approval" status).
• Material Monitoring: Track availability of raw materials commonly used in the Shipping Department.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, and perform daily equipment checks and light maintenance as needed.
• Support for Respool Department: Assist with tasks such as label creation, reel preparation, and movement of work-in-progress (WIP) materials.
• Backup Support: Provide assistance to the Logistics Supervisor, Material Halder, and Respool Department as needed.
• Safety and Best Practices: Promote and adhere to safety standards and best practices within the Shipping and Respool departments.
• Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support department goals.
• 5S Initiatives: Demonstrate and maintain "5S" (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) principles for workplace organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

SKILLS:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
• Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and inventory tracking.
• Proficiency with computers for data entry and inventory management tasks.
• Analytical skills to verify accuracy of products and documentation.
• Ability to safely operate machinery and material handling equipment in compliance with safety standards.
• Capability to perform tasks involving lifting, moving, or handling materials up to 75 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation, as required for packaging and shipping duties.

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3 years in a fast-paced shipping environment.

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
