We are looking for our next great team member to join us in filling the position of Banquet and Events Manager. The Banquets & Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet functions, meetings, and special events. This role ensures flawless service delivery, premium guest experiences, and seamless collaboration with catering, culinary, sales, and operations teams.

What you do each day:
Event Operations & Execution
Lead and supervise banquet staff during setup, service, and breakdown of events.
Ensure all events meet luxury service standards and align with client expectations and hotel brand guidelines.
Inspect room setup, decor, AV needs, linen, tableware, and staffing prior to each event.
Coordinate timing and flow of service with the culinary and catering teams.
Client & Guest Relations
Serve as the primary on-site contact for event clients, planners, and VIP guests.
Conduct final walk-throughs, handle special requests, and respond quickly to changes or concerns.
Ensure post-event follow-up and communication with sales or catering managers as needed.
Team Leadership & Training
Recruit, train, and schedule banquet staff, captains, and supervisors.
Provide hands-on leadership during events, coaching team members on service protocols and guest engagement.
Foster a professional, service-focused culture within the department.
Administrative & Financial Oversight
Review event orders (BEOs), contracts, and floor plans to prepare staff and resources.
Monitor labor costs, inventory, and equipment usage.
Ensure accurate billing, gratuities, and reporting after each event.
Support monthly forecasts and departmental budgets with leadership and finance teams.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with Sales, Catering, Culinary, Stewarding, and Engineering departments.
Attend pre-con meetings, BEO discussions, and operations briefings.
Communicate changes, timelines, and expectations effectively to all relevant teams.
Standards & Compliance
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and brand standards in all banquet spaces.
Enforce food safety, health regulations, and service protocols.
Ensure compliance with liquor laws and responsible service practices.
Does this sound like you?
- Thorough knowledge of Houston
2-4 years of banquet, event management, or F&B leadership experience in a luxury or upscale hotel or venue.
Strong leadership, team management, and guest service skills.
Knowledge of event logistics, BEOs, and fine dining or banquet service standards.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple events and high-pressure situations with grace.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift or move equipment, linens, or supplies up to 40 lbs.
