Join our team as a Warehouse Utility
The Warehouse Utility is responsible for managing and moving resin and molds for use in injection molding process - both in-site and cross-site.
Shift - M - F (2pm-10pm) (*shift differential $2.40)

What You Will Do
  • Retrieve, move, and store resin, part inserts, and molds in the production plant - general
  • Weigh resin and/or part inserts on scales
  • Calculate/identify resin discrepancies
  • Perform and record cycle counts
  • Retrieve and prepare resin for transfer to other plants, and manually create transfer orders in our ERP (AX)
  • Move and locate resin that has been transferred from other plants
  • Organize and consolidate the resin storage locations for maximum storage capacity (using DOMO)
  • Retrieve molds from build and prepare for transfer to other plants
  • Retrieve molds in accordance with the production schedule and stage in assembly area (using our MES)
  • Transfer molds to a storage location after production (MES)
  • Periodically pull molds for Customer Quality Engineers (CQE's)
  • Organize and consolidate the mold storage locations for maximum storage capacity
  • Track inactive molds and allocate them to temporary storage
  • Monitor molds to be destroyed; remove them from storage
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards, as well as all company and operational procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and optimal utilization
  • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
What It Takes
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to become familiar with the many types of resins used in thermoplastic injection molding
  • Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift, overhead crane hoist, etc.) - we will train
  • Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (utility knives, aluminum blocks, etc.)
  • Able to use a computer, calculator and do basic arithmetic
  • Able to read, comprehend and write in English
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
  • Must be punctual and have good attendance
  • Able to comprehend and follow printed and computer instructions, and direction from Supervisors/Leads
  • Good written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and respond to email (MS Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Critical thinking and problem solving mindset
  • Organization Skills: The ability to maintain an orderly workflow and keep track of materials and products is crucial
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in inventory management and order fulfillment, preventing errors and discrepancies
  • Physical Stamina: Warehouse work often requires physical activities such as lifting, moving, and standing for long period
  • Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and working efficiently to meet deadlines and increase productivity
  • Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with inventory management software, and the ability to use scanners and other digital tools
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication with Team Members and Supervisors/Leads to ensure smooth operations
  • Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve common goals and improve workflow
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Quickly identifying and resolving issues that arise in day-to-day operations
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Adaptability: The ability to adjust to changes in work processes, technology, and job responsibilities
Bonus Points For
  • AX or comparable ERP experience
  • Inventory control experience
  • Forklift (standup/reach truck) experience
  • Scanners and/or mobile Warehouse device familiarity
  • Curiosity-based problem-solving skillset a plus
Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, and compensation mix vary based on position, such as base wage, as well as other earnings including incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use a computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, telephone and printer; reach with hands, and arms, talk, see and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel and must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
Work Environment:
Indoors (A/C); nonsmoking; the majority of this job function is performed in a manufacturing area exposed to machinery and noise; with eye protection and safety shoes required. Occasionally works in outside weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
