The Electrical and Computer Engineering (
ECE) Department is one of the top 10 suppliers of
ECE talent at the BS level in the US, and ranks in the top
ECE Departments in total annual research expenditures (
ASEE). The department is located in state-of-the-art facilities on NC State's Centennial Campus. Its undergraduate EE and CpE degree programs have been ranked in the Top 20 and Top 30, respectively, by US news and World Report.

Essential Job Duties |
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of
Assistant Professor beginning in August 2025 as part of NC State's strategic engineering expansion.
The department is seeking excellent candidates in the following areas
Outstanding candidates outside these areas will be considered based on the candidates' qualifications and the strengths of the department.
:
AI Hardware: Design and implementation of hardware platforms for artificial intelligence and machine learning, including chip design, VLSI circuits, in-memory processing, integrated system design, computer architecture, accelerators, and hardware/software co-design for AI systems. Robotics: Autonomous systems, control theory, sensing and perception, drone and unmanned systems, and novel applications of robotics across domains such as machine learning, healthcare, defense applications, and environmental monitoring. Semiconductors: Advanced materials and device technologies with emphasis on wide-bandgap semiconductors.
Candidates will contribute to undergraduate and graduate student education, likely teaching classes in areas as assigned. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical or computer engineering or a related discipline at the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated the potential to build a strong research program and an excellent teaching record.
