Overview

ENERCON's Nuclear Services Group is seeking an Emergency Preparedness/Planning Specialist to join the Nuclear Licensing Team. In this role, you will champion nuclear safety by shaping emergency preparedness, guiding regulatory strategy, and delivering expert analysis that empowers impactful action and safeguards the future. This position can be based in the following locations:

    Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta)
  • Naperville, IL (Suburb of Chicago)
  • Birmingham, AL
  • Fort Worth, TX
  • Overland Park, KS
  • Chattanooga, TN
  • Palm Beach Gardens, FL
  • Remote will be considered for candidates that are senior and above

We are open to Full Time, Part Time, or Contract for this role

Responsibilities

Imagine a day where you're shaping emergency plans, providing regulatory support, and diving into technical analysis that safeguards communities and drives progress in nuclear safety. Every task you tackle strengthens the foundation of a safer, more resilient future.

  • Emergency Planning & Preparedness: Provide regulatory support to prepare safety analysis reports (SAR) and licensing applications, specifically for sections involving Emergency Planning, Emergency Preparedness, and Estimated Time to Evacuate
  • Commitment Tracking & Closure: Provide regulatory support to evaluate, track, and drive past and future commitments to closure as appropriate
  • Document Development & Review: Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents
  • Research & Technical Analysis: Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs
  • Project Scheduling & Issue Resolution: Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project
  • Audit & Inspection Support: Provide technical and regulatory support as needed in preparation for or during NRC audits and inspections


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Science, or Engineering from an accredited university
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the nuclear industry
  • 2 years of regulatory/emergency planning experience in the nuclear industry preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting Emergency Planning, Emergency Preparedness, and Estimated Time to Evacuate
  • Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other regulatory agencies' meetings and workshops
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making
  • Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment
  • Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader
  • Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry


Pay Range

USD $90,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.

Salary Range Information:

  • If a salary range is listed, it reflects the typical range for this full-time position based on the role, level, and location. Individual compensation within the range will be determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
