The QUALITY ENGINEER is responsible for supporting new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds. Manage the customer specific requirements and offer technical support. Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. Responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and to resolve immediately to ensure zero impact to the customer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

Provide quality engineering leadership and technical expertise.

Identify customer quality requirements and develop inspection plans and methods to support their achievement.

Apply, understand, and train other engineers in the methods of measurement system analysis, statistical sampling, statistical process control, and machine capability analysis.

Develop validation plans, coordinate execution, perform statistical analysis, and report findings.

Analyze quality performance utilizing statistical and analytical tools and methods for evidence that manufacturing and inspection processes are functioning properly. Initiate corrective/preventive action when necessary.

Manage internal and external quality issues for assigned customers in order to achieve team goals.

Provide support and training to engineering, inspection, operations, and business development ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.

Define problems, perform root cause analysis, choose and implement solutions, and test their effectiveness.

Assist in developing and refining failure analysis methodologies.

Support the problem resolution process by acting as resource for quality problem solving methodology.

Participate in the development and maintenance of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

Participate on Material Review Board, leading containment and disposition activities for nonconforming product.

Proactively manage timelines, resources, and communication for medium to large scale projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; preferred Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE) or the Reliability Engineer Certification (CRE) granted through the American Society of Quality (ASQ).

Minimum 5+ years' experience in Engineering focused in one of the following areas: Quality, Manufacturing, or Development.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Advanced knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control).

Advanced knowledge of Statistical Techniques and Analysis.

Advanced knowledge of problem-solving techniques and Quality tools.

Broad project management experience.

Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines.

Problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.

Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to collaborate and work well with others.

Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
