THE POSITION

The Assessment & Taxation (A&T) Department Elections Division has a full-time Senior Administrative Specialist position available.

The Position
As a Senior Administrative Specialist within the Elections Division, you will be expected to provide support in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of elections processes. This position is responsible for providing a variety of advanced level administrative, clerical, and project-related support using independent judgment in content and style. It includes considerable public contact in explaining policies and procedures. The role will support in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of elections processes. Due to the nature of the work, the ability to learn the procedures and operating details of the applicable work unit is a must, as is the operation of a variety of office equipment, software applications, and department specific systems.

The Ideal Candidate
An ideal candidate should have the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, be flexible, self-motivated and possess a positive attitude. They should also be highly skilled in verbal and written communication, time management, customer service, organization and prioritization. Lastly, a strong work ethic with reliable attendance and punctuality is highly preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent. AND
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.

Additional Requirements
  • Must pass a criminal background check post-offer.

Selection Process

  4. Panel Interview(s): Our goal is to schedule panel interviews with candidates that meet the minimum qualifications and pass the SME review as soon as possible.
  5. Salary Analysis & Conditional Offer: Human Resources will conduct a salary analysis for the successful candidate(s) and extend an offer of appointment conditional on successful completion of background, driving, and reference checks.
  6. Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
