Minimum Qualifications is any of the following: Education: High School diploma, technical school graduation, or associate's degree in computer science, computer systems or equivalent education. Basic working knowledge of UNIX computer operating system is recommended and Security+ certification. Two years' experience computer operation and maintenance with Silicon Graphics, MODCOMP or comparable computer systems is encouraged. Licenses or Certifications: Security+ I. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Performs maintenance and operations on mission computer equipment. Ensures diagnostic testing is conducted on all data processing systems and peripherals. Reports status of any equipment status changes, modifications, and anomalies immediately to the Missile Warning Operations Crew Commander/Crew Chief (CMDR/CCH). Assures all configuration control procedures are followed. Assists in the maintenance of the magnetic media library. Supports space surveillance operations and testing. Operates as MMCO (Maintenance Monitor Console Operator) as required. Immediately responds to all reporting requirements. Position requires shift duty. II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operates and maintains all mission computer systems and ensures all diagnostics are performed. 2. Immediately reports all computer failures or degradation and switches to alternative standby systems. 3. Assists in ensuring all requirements for magnetic media are met. 4. Operates as the MMCO when required. 5. Submits system outage reports to lead or Communications Electronics Manager as required. 6. Supports all Computer System Security requirements. 7. Monitor mission system performance daily. 8. Maintain records, logs, and files. 10. Performs other duties as required. III. SUPERVISION: A. Responsibilities for Work of Others B. Supervision Received Works under the general supervision of the workcenter lead and Communication Electronics Manager. IV. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: A. Physical Tasks Exerts limited physical energy. May have to handle 20-30 pound loads on occasion. B. Working Conditions Computing center environment. May work extended hours or weekends. May travel overnight or on weekends. C.
