We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a JAMA Communications & Social Media Intern on our Scientific Publication team. This is 9+ month internship reporting into our Chicago, IL office. The internship will be part time & remote during the school year, and full time, requiring 3 days a week in the office, during the summer.

The student will gain experience in social media
marketing and media relations activities on behalf of the JAMA Network. The
JAMA Network brings JAMA together with JAMA Network Open and 11
specialty journals to offer enhanced access to the educational content,
scientific research, and opinion shaping the future of medicine. Published
continuously since 1883, JAMA is one of the most widely circulated,
peer-reviewed, general medical journals in the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve foundational role of contributing to successful social media engagement by assisting in creation of post collateral (images and graphics).
  • Track social media engagement
  • Asist in uploading of social media posts to social media management tool and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Attend editorial meetings focused on content maximization.
  • Additional projects as assigned.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be enrolled in a university degree

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.

This role is a non-exempt position and the hourly range for this position is $20.00-$23.00. This is the lowest to highest rate we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
