Support critical national defense operations as a Cable Management Shop Lead, Craftsman at Schriever Space Force Base. This role ensures the integrity and reliability of cabling infrastructure vital to secure communications and IT systems. Your work will directly support mission readiness through expert cable installation, testing, and maintenance.
Pay: $107,600 - 117,600
Essential Duties
Cable Installation & Termination
- Install and terminate Cat6, CATV, fiber optic, and other structured cabling systems.
- Run and secure new cabling in both existing and new facilities.
- Perform end-to-end cable testing and troubleshooting to ensure operational integrity.
Infrastructure Maintenance & Support
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance with technical specifications.
- Maintain, plan, and manage all cable infrastructure activities in support of the 3IS2 contract.
- Ensure cable runs meet or exceed TEMPEST requirements for secure environments.
Documentation & Technical Standards
- Create and update cable routing and infrastructure diagrams.
- Assist in developing and reviewing communication system requirements.
Collaboration & Equipment Management
- Coordinate with Configuration Management personnel for IT asset management.
- Serve as an alternate IT Equipment Custodian (ITEC).
- Participate in IT inventories and support hardware/software tracking.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in cable management and maintenance support.
- Hands-on expertise in cable installation, termination, and testing.
- Working knowledge of TEMPEST standards for secure cable routing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting military or government communications infrastructure.
- Familiarity with configuration and asset management practices.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.

- High School Diploma or GED
