IMEG is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC to lead large, complex projects in New York City. As a lead engineer, you'll drive the delivery of high-profile building projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide innovative engineering solutions and expert guidance to clients. Utilize advanced design tools and software to oversee all phases of mechanical system design, from analysis and specification to implementation and quality control. Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, analysis, and implementation of HVAC systems for major building projects
  • Conduct site assessments, generate technical reports, and provide in-process design reviews to maintain IMEG's quality standards
  • Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions
  • Participate in project interviews and presentations, supporting business development efforts
  • Prioritize safety and proactively identify and mitigate risks in all engineering work

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC systems
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays

Salary Range $180,000- $225,000. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
