Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Field Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience by rotating through multiple service groups within our construction operations. This immersive internship is designed to expose students to a variety of field engineering functions, including site layout, quality control, safety compliance, and project coordination. Interns will travel to different job sites and work alongside experienced engineers, superintendents, and project managers to support real-world construction projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in daily field operations, including site coordination, safety compliance, and quality control.
- Support layout and surveying activities using GPS and total station equipment.
- Support procurement tracking and delivery coordination for materials and equipment.
- Help track progress against project schedules and update field documentation.
- Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings and assist with issue resolution.
- Maintain and organize field reports, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with safety audits.
- Collaborate with field teams to ensure materials and equipment are available as needed.
- Learn and apply construction management software tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in field operations and hands-on construction experience.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with construction tech tools is a plus.
