Pay Range: $16.91 - $28.20
Job Description Summary: Schedule all appointments according to physician orders, outside testing, and referrals. Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedule follow-up appointments for the clinic as directed by Physician orders in OncoEMR.
- Schedule outside testing, referrals to other physicians and hospital admissions as ordered by physicians.
- Thoroughly explain outpatient appointment, location, time, dates and preparation requirements to patients/family member.
- Notify Financial Counselor of patients scheduled to request referral authorizations.
- Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patients' rights, safety, billing, and collections.
- Assist in training other AON employees.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Keep work area and records in a neat and orderly manner.
- Maintain all company equipment in a safe and working order.
- Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times.
- Will be expected to work at any AON location to help meet AON business needs.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Requirements Education:
- High school education required
Previous Experience (including minimum years of experience): Experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting; procedure entry with experience in insurance requirements, medical terminology and ICD9 and CPT coding; excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently. - Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.
